If details are incorrect on this page, I apologise.
It's been some time since I've watched Sliders, and I have never even seen seasons 4 & 5 as the BBC axed it. Grrr!

What if you found a portal to a parallel universe?
What if you could slide into a thousand different worlds?
Where it's the same year, and you're the same person, but everything else is different.
And what if you can't find your way home?

characters - seasons - movie

Sliders was a show following a group of four travelling through different versions of our world.  The initial concept being that every choice made in history plays out in it's own timeline.  In theory, some timelines could be identical but for the colour of say one butterfly, while on the other end of the scale Earth could be stuck in the middle of a 2000 year war with aliens (it's possible, I tell ya!)

Created by Tracy Torme, 'Sliders' started in 1995 and finished in 2000 - perhaps before it should have.  The show was dogged with problems and was axed after its first , second and third seasons, but it managed to survive each time.  For the first time it passed between seasons (four and five) with a big axe over it, only to be cancelled for good at the end of the fifth season.

Quinn 'Qball' Mallory
(Jerry O'Connell)

Seemingly your average physics student, Quinn is the one who unlocks to secret to 'sliding' - travelling through different dimensions. 'Qball' (as he is nicknamed by Rembrandt) blames himself when the 'Sliders' get lost, and sees it has his mission to get them home.  Through their adventures, Quinn is stunned to find out that the world he calls home isn't really... he was placed their by his parents when the Kromaggs took over.  He found this out when he discovered his 'real' brother Colin (one he didn't even know he had!).  Quinn's final slide (as himself) comes when he merges with another version of himself, and becomes 'Mallory'.

Wade Wells
(Sabrina Lloyd)

Quinn's wannabe girlfriend, Wade is really just the girl-next-door as far as Quinn is concerned.  Over time she drops her shield and makes her feelings more apparent to him.  Sometimes feeling on the edge as she was just 'along for the ride' and often finds herself with Remmy, as he was in the the same situation.  After a confrontation with evil Slider Rickman, Wade found sliding to imprisonment by the Kromaggs.

Rembrandt 'The Crying Man' Brown
(Cleavant Derricks)

Fate is a strange thing.  Former singer, Rembrandt was only passing when he got sucked into the vortex and involuntarily became one of the Sliders.  Four years later and he found himself the leader when he was the only original Slider left.

Professor Arturo
(John Rhys-Davies)

The Professor was both proud and bitter of Quinn's Sliding discovery.  Just a lecturer, Arturo often showed signs that it should have been him, and that it found be him to get them home.  During their second year of Sliding, something happened that never got sorted out.  After meeting Arturo's evil twin, the Sliders had to decide which one to take - not able to tell them apart.  The show hinted that 'our' Arturo was the one left behind - and possibly still alive.  During their third year, on a world where the population was preparing to slide to another to save themselves from disaster, Arturo lost his life following a shootout.

Maggie Beckett
(Kari Wuhrer)

Maggie Beckett is the first 'new' slider to join the line-up, following Arturo's death.  her husband - Rickman - proved to be a villain to be reckoned with, trying to plot his own self-fish survival.  Maggie - origins from the military proved to be a true asset to the group... but also caused some friction between Quinn and the jealous Wade.  Maggie also proved difficult when it was discovered she couldn't survive in 'our' world.  Meaning that at some point, she would have to go it alone.

Colin Mallory
(Charlie O'Connell)

Colin Mallory's appearance is a surprising one.  While Quinn has got used to his doppelgangers having completely different lives to him - the shock that comes with Colin is that they are REALLY brothers!  Separated when their real home world was taken over by the dominating Kromaggs, and placed into care on other 'safe' worlds.  With the brothers reunited, Colin joins Quinn, Rembrandt and Maggie on their sliding adventures.  Colin's ride falls short however when he is vaporised inside the Sliders' Vortex.

Mallory
(Robert Floyd)

Mallory is the result of a bizarre experiment by the ruthless Dr.Geiger.  He is the morphed version of 'our' Quinn and the Quinn on Geiger's world.  Mallory joins Rembrandt and Maggie, but is painfully haunted by images from their Quinn's past.

Diana Davis
(Tembi Locke)

Diana Davis is Dr.Geiger's assistant, who turns tail when she realises his evil plan.  A scientist, her knowledge of Sliding technology could come in handy for the Sliders, and she joins them when they slide.

Season One : 12 Episodes : 1995
Jerry O'Connell Sabrina Lloyd Cleavant Derricks & John Rhys-Davies

Quinn Mallory discovers how to 'slide' through different realities on Earth. He demonstrates by showing his College Professor, Arturo, and his best friend, Wade Wells.  Everything is successful, until they try it out again... they make the mistake of trying to get home before the timer allows, and they find themselves randomly sliding to different worlds.  Whilst Quinn, Arturo and Wade all knew what they were letting themselves in for, Rembrandt Brown was just passing by in his car when he was sucked in by the Vortex, finding himself involuntarily sliding with them.  Each new slide brings new surprises, and many dangers.  In one world Wade finds herself the winner of some kind of lottery, only to find that the catch is that she will be killed.  It turns out to be some sort of population control.  She falls for a fellow 'Winner', Ryan (played by The X Files' Nicholas Lea), and when it's time to go - just in time as far as Wade is concerned - Ryan slides with them.  However, upon arriving at the new destination, it appears that Quinn has been shot in the head...

Season Two : 12 Episodes : 1996
Jerry O'Connell Sabrina Lloyd Cleavant Derricks & John Rhys-Davies

As it turns out, a bullet only grazed Quinn's head, and after a bit of rest he's fine.  Ryan decides to stay in the new world, and the four sliders slide on without him. As in the previous year, the group find a number of strange new worlds, completely different to their own... and very different versions of themselves.  In one world however, they find themselves a new 'evil' Arturo, greedy and ruthless.  Identical to 'our' Arturo in every other way when it comes to the next slide the group must discover which one to take.  The Vortex can only carry four people safely, a fifth would seriously weaken it.  They choose... and we are let wondering, did they take the right one?  New problems arrive later on though when the Sliders find themselves up against an enemy that will haunt them over the coming years - The Kromaggs.  An entire race of Sliders intent on conquering all other dimensions.

Season Three : 22 Episodes : 1996 - 1997
Jerry O'Connell Sabrina Lloyd Cleavant Derricks & John Rhys-Davies
(episodes 1-17)
Kari Wuhrer
(episodes 18-22)
When the Sliders found themselves on a world where the population was being divided into 'those that will slide to salvation' and 'those that won't', none knew how seriously things would alter, as this particular slide changed their purpose and mission for the rest of the year.  Arturo was killed in a shootout, and replaced by Maggie Beckett.  Instead of simply trying to find their way home (after all, Maggie was now leaving hers) they now had the goal of tracking down, and killing (if necessary) Colonel Rickman (originally played by Robert Daltry), Maggie's ex-husband.  Always a few steps behind it was a tough task but eventually they caught him... and he plummeted to his doom off of a cliff.  Catching the next slide the group were split : Quinn & Maggie, Wade with Rembrandt...
Season Four : 22 episodes : 1998 - 1999
Jerry O'Connell Cleavant Derricks Kari Wuhrer Charlie O'Connell
With Rickman out of the way, the Sliders can continue their search for home, but first they must reunite, and their reunion is less than pleasant when Rembrandt informs them that Wade has been captured, taken prisoner by the evil Kromaggs.  Having lost their second original slider, the Quinn, Rembrandt and Maggie slide on... with new adventures and surprises around the corner... including one BIG one for Quinn.  After spending all his time looking for home, upon discovering Colin Mallory, he finds that he doesn't belong in our world.  Colin turns out to really be HIS brother.  They were separated when their home world was taken over by the Kromaggs. Colin joins them.
Season Five : 22 episodes : 1999 - 2000
Cleavant Derricks Kari Wuhrer Robert Floyd Tembi Locke
Sliding into a new world, the Sliders are thrown into chaos when they lose both Quinn and Colin.  While Colin is tragically vaporised inside the Vortex, the Quinn they know is morphed with the new world's version - creating a new being - Mallory.  The Sliders, find themselves a new enemy - A Slider scientist Dr.Geiger (played by Peter Jurasik).  With their new enemy they also find a new ally in his scientist assistant, Diana Davis.  Rembrandt, Maggie, Diana and the morphed Mallory slide on, continuing an on going sliding battle with Geiger, and keeping watch for the evil Kromaggs.

Jerry O'Connell Sabrina Lloyd Cleavant Derricks & John Rhys-Davies

Creator of the show, Tracy Torme, announced a while ago that he hopes to take the series to the silver screen.  He intends to reunite his original cast, and gets the story back it's origins.  Torme left the show after it's third season, after writing a big two-parter only find that John Rhys-Davis had quit.  Having had a massive argument for producers he threw in the towel and let them have full control.

He was annoyed that his characters had been changed from what he had created.  Quinn was supposed to be a science nerd, Wade a mousy girl next door.  For ratings producers had glammed up both of the characters to appeal to the opposite sexes.  The final straw was when they decided to replace Arturo with attractive, busty babe Maggie Beckett.

Little has been mentioned about the movie for some time, it's not even known if it will happen or not.  It is known however that original star Jerry O'Connell (Quinn) wants to do it, in fact it's popular belief that all the original cast would return for the movie.

On a personal note - please include Kari Wuhrer in the cast... please... just for me!
