The Story
The Chipmunks are characters that have spanned many decades. Originally set up by Ross Bagdasarian as a gimmick for music albums... The 3 Chipmunks (Alvin, Simon & Theodore), along with their human father David first hit television screens way back in the 1950's, with 'The Alvin Show', which lasted for four seasons.
Back in the music world, The Chipmunks carried on through the 60's and the 70's, and following Bagdasarian's retirement, his son took over. In 1983 a new series for a new generation hit the screens... and the show 'Alvin & The Chipmunks' hit the screens, lasting for 7 seasons. As well as introducing girlfriends for the young Chipmunks, there was also another popular series in the 90's.. Chipmunks At The Movies. Still today, people enjoy the squeaky tunes, and mischievous adventures of Alvin & The Chipmunks.
The Characters
David Seville - the adopted father of the chipmunks... Dave is a
caring parent who will do anything for his "children". He acts
as his boys' manager, and writes songs. He has something of a failed love
life, and is often very stressed out with just about anything and everything.
Alvin Seville - the lead singer in the The Chipmunks, and often
known to play a guitar. He's the mischievous Chipmunk, and is often
scheming and scamming people. He's the one who gets into trouble, and
takes his brothers down with him. Severely egotistical.... Alvin just
wants to be famous... and loved.
Simon Seville - the guitarist for the group. He is also
the brains of the family. A keen scientist he is always working on some
kind of experiment. His sensible nature makes him the perfect foil for
Alvin's hair-brained schemes.
Theodore Seville - The
third brother, Theodore is the drummer in the band. He loves his food, and
can often be found in the kitchen baking cakes, and working with food in
general. He's a loving, trusting (re: gullible) character, who will
usually fall in with Alvin's schemes.
The Chippettes - The Chippettes, are basically the female equivalent's to the Chipmunks. Brittany is just like Alvin - eternally after popularity. Jeanette is the intelligent one, and Eleanor is the gullible cook.
